MAS o Menos

Instead of heading out east for hike this week, I’ve been monitoring news stories on the latest round of wildfires. The fires are located in one of my favorite hiking regions. The fire is being called the Horse Fire. This is because it resides along Horsethief Canyon. You may recall I did this hike in April. Once the fire is contained, I’ll repeat the hike and take photos of the destruction.

Kinda sucks that so much of the backcountry is getting obliterated like this… but the Japatul Valley / Lyons Valley area was long overdue. Last time I did Lawson the chaparral was over head-high in places.
