Rattler!
Today I headed out to Mission Trails to begin training for my 50 Mile bike ride. I picked this park because it has a nice 2 mile stretch of road away from cars. On my last mile, I spotted another danger. A rattlesnake was laid out waiting for me. I biked around him, parked my bike and walked toward it in order to get this photo.
After I took this photo, the snake slithered off to the side of the road. In the distance I saw a runner heading toward me and the snake. I was able to get the runner’s attention before he ran into striking distance of the snake. Fortunately for him, he was the only runner out that day without an iPod on, so he could hear my warning. He thanked me for alerting him and I was on my way.
