Coffee and War

In the early 1990s, I had some great coffee from Burundi. Then war came to that country and the coffee went away for 10 years. After 10 years the coffee quality still isn’t back to where it once was. War is not good for coffee.
Yesterday I walked past a newspaper stand and saw that Ethiopia [...]

Palm Springs Aerial Tramway and San Jacinto

Palm Springs is less than three hours from San Diego. Having never been on the famous tramway, I took a road trip there on Saturday. It was a warm day around 70 degrees at the bottom of Mount San Jacinto. At the top of the 2.5 mile ride it was quite a bit colder [...]

In April, I hiked the Clevenger North trails in San Pasqual in the rain. I went back on Friday and completed the 6 mile hike on a nice clear day.

Alexa Web Popularity

It appears that 2006 was a good year for the popularity of my web empire. According to Alexa, my sites are becoming more popular. Either that or everyone else is becoming less popular. Either way, I’ll take it. With Alexa rankings, the lower the number, the higher the ranking. (Yahoo is #1)

Snowshoeing in San Diego

Last night I attended the snowshoeing clinic at REI. For those that haven’t been to an REI clinic, they spent an hour talking about the topic and all the wonderful gear you can buy at their store. Since the clinics are free, this is a fair trade.
For those outside of San Diego that are scratching [...]
