February San Diego Home Roasters Meeting
About a year ago, I advised the San Diego Home Roasters to expand their charter beyond just home roasting. Get into all the different aspects of coffee. I’m glad to say that my advice has been well received and the meetings are getting better each month.
This month Cafe Calabria invited us upstairs for a cupping. For information on coffee cupping read Coffee Cupping: A Basic Introduction.
After the cupping we had a demo of the HotTop Roaster.
Next month Calabria will setup an East African coffee tasting. Much like wine tasting, we will be taught how to pick apart the different flavors from coffees in that region. In January we did that for Indonesian coffee and I was amazed at some of the flavor differences I had never noticed before.
If you live in San Diego, love good coffee, and have a few hours free on the first Saturday morning each month come join our group.
