Just returned from a quick trip to just north of Los Angeles. Met up with former San Diego bloggers Joe and Leah and had a good chat about web stuff.

Afterwards we went to Ventura, which was quite nice. National Geographic Adventure had a story about Ventura last year which sold me on visiting a classic California surf town. I don’t have a good photo of Ventura and the wonderful sunset. Go look at this photo.

Today we went to Santa Barbara, which I had seen since my March 1999 first California visit. Not many people were out and about at 10 AM. Perhaps this is more of an evening town?

We drove through Sunday night around 8 PM. The town was mostly shutdown. Very small. Little shops. Looks like a lot of horse owning people live in the area. It was too dark to really see the town.
