Channel Islands - Santa Cruz

Yesterday we visited the Channel Islands National Park. This National Park just outside of Ventura, California does not have an entrance fee like most parks. However, you will need to hire an outfitter to take you to the island which is 20 miles off the coast. We went to the island of Santa Cruz with [...]

Channel Islands Trip Planned

At the last minute we canceled our road trip through the Grand Circle. With INeedCoffee going commercial this week, I really can’t spend an entire week on the road away from the Internet. Since my annual National Park pass is good until June 1st, we picked the Channel Islands as a quick 2 day [...]

John Kerry Was at my Gym This Morning

Well not really. But there was a guy that looked exactly like John Kerry did at the age of about 35. Tall, lanky, dark eyes and a long chin. The sad thing was he struggled to bench 95 pounds. Doesn’t sound like Commander in Chief level strength does it? As much as people dislike President [...]

High-Reps is Not the Way to Get Strong

I try to avoid discussing news stories on this blog, but I can’t keep silent on this story. From Overweight people get less out of exercise, which states that obese develop less strength, muscle in workouts than lean people:

DigitalColony Conversion Completed

In January, I released the new version of my technical web site DigitalColony.com. Even though I’ve had problems with the publisher Blogger, it has been a success. The Alexa ranking has gone from 679,291 to 389,708. Considering I spent most of 2007 on DeepFitness, INeedCoffee and this site, I’m impressed with the increase.
This morning I [...]

INeedCoffee Goes Commercial

Today I released advertising on INeedCoffee. Why did I wait 8 years to do this? I figured out a way to pay the writers. In March, I met up with Joe Crawford, who told me about a WordPress plugin that randomized the AdSenseID for each post. Using this idea I was able to modify [...]

Back From Seattle

Everyone talks about the weather when discussing Seattle. I’m not going to. It rains.

Seattle is the espresso champ. If you are like me and love espresso then you will find many places that know how to please you. Trabant, Victrola and Caffe Vita were my three favorite places. I probably tried over 20 [...]

Closer to a Decent Bench Press

After a week in Seattle eating less than healthy food and consuming massive amounts of espresso, I returned to the gym with low expectations. A week ago I confessed that my bench press was less than decent.
To my surprise I bested my previous bench of 215 by 10 pounds. Now I’m up to 225 [...]

MAS Meets Microsoft

Shawn gave me the idea to stop by the Microsoft campus. It was only 10 miles away, so off we went. It’s a huge campus with lots of buildings. They even have their own police security force.
