Hiking Mount Si

After passing the Twin Peaks diner, you come across one of the most popular hikes in the Seattle Metro: Mount Si. It’s a steep 8 mile hike that reaches almost 4000 feet above sea level. It took me 3.5 hours to complete the hike.

The Central Ohio Force Field

A week after I graduated from The Ohio State University, I left my birthplace of Ohio and never returned. After 24 years, I had had enough brutal winters and endless discussions about the latest shopping center. I moved to Florida. Later I would move to Northern Virigina, Southern California and now I reside in the [...]

Tales From the Glitter Gym - Locker Room Edition

I never thought that I would have enough stories to complete a new edition of Tales From the Glitter Gym just two days after my last post. Then again, I wasn’t expecting to walk into the locker room.
I’m not a shower at the gym guy. For me it has always been too inefficient. In [...]

West Tiger Mountain Vista Hike

Today I did a steep 3 hour hike in the Issaqua Alps. This is quite the change of scenery from San Diego. The thick isolated green terrain reminded me of the movie First Blood. This hike is close to my home, so I will be back.

Tales From the Glitter Gym - Bellevue Edition

It’s been a while since I last did an installment of Tales From the Glitter Gym. For background on what a Glitter Gym is read Glitter and Rust. After just 3 visits to the 24 Hour Fitness in Bellevue, WA (140th Ave NE), I have enough stories for a new installment of Tales [...]

Agent Cooper I’m in Twin Peaks

Just east of where I’m living now is Snoqualmie Falls, Washington. This is where Twin Peaks was filmed. Before I left the house, I had a plan to run around taking pictures of the locations used on the TV series. It had been 15 or so years since I saw the show, so I [...]

Rock Climbing Wall at the Amazon Picnic

Saturday we scored invites to Amazon Picnic 2007 party from Kellie and Chris. Having spent my entire working career working for small companies or large companies that were small on profits, I was overwhelmed. It was amazing. They even gave out free t-shirts commemorating the event.
Tons of food options. A Super-Sized Basketball [...]

For Whom the Bellevue Tolls

Let me tell you about my first 3 days as a new resident of Bellevue, Washington.
First things first, I would be helpless if I hadn’t bought a GPS. Not only does it provide street directions, it tells me where stores and restaurants are located. Some of the data is bad. On the first day I [...]

Ultra Shorting Real Estate

After being on the market for almost a full year, our house sold in early 2006. When we first listed the house I wasn’t aware that the housing market was nearing a top. After a month, I started to do some research. I read a few books and thousands of articles and blogs. I studied [...]
