Urban Hiking
I’ve been on the Seattle side of the bridge for about 10 days now and I’ve already gone on three urban hikes in excess of two hours. I’ve also done numerous hikes of 20-30 minutes. Walking around Queen Anne, Pike Market and Pioneer Square sure beats walking around the Volvo dealership in Bellevue.

I can see buying a condo someday in Queen Anne. Of course I’d hedge that purchase with a Case-Shiller futures contract should real estate continue to decline in value. Imagine that.

That’s interesting that you call walking in Seattle hiking - and that you’d spend your time on the Eastside walking around the Volvo dealership (although we all know their cars are very safe). It’s too bad you didn’t expand your horizons while you were on the Eastside and do some actual hiking on the hundreds of miles of trails we enjoy here …
I enjoy a good walk (or three) downtown in every major city I visit, but I wouldn’t think to call them hikes - and definitely would not prefer them to walking through some nice peaceful woods with fresh air where you can actually hear birds singing …

I didn’t call it hiking. I called it “urban hiking”.
And I’ve hiked several trails on the Eastside including Mount Si. Trust that my horizons are expanded.

My bad. That’s cool that you’ve done other hikes as well. Do you have a favorite local (non-urban) hike you recommend?

I like West Tiger (Exit 20 off I-90) since it is steep and not too far of a drive.
