2005 Man of the Year - Thomas Stefanelli

The man of the year doesn’t live in the White House or work at the United Nations. My pick for Man of the Year delivers pizza in South Florida. Read the following news item from AP (6-9-2005).

Thomas Stefanelli says he’s dedicated to his job at Hungry Howie’s Pizza in Tampa, Florida. So he [...]

Ameritrade Final Score for 2005: + 11.47%

My stock portfolio ended up 11.47% for the year.  At one point in early December I was up 17%, but considering the market got rocked in the fall, I’d say I did OK as a part-time investor.

Closing in on 81 Workouts

In 2004 I was able to hit the weights 80 times.  Not a stellar accomplishment considering the 113 times I did in 2003.  As of today, I have now tied my 80 number for 2005.  One more workout and I will have exceeded my 2004 number.  Considering the health issues I had this year, I’m [...]

Hiking in San Pasqual Part 2

At 7:30 AM, I went back to the San Pasqual trails and hiked 3 miles on north side. When added up the distances of all San Pasqual Trails is about 25 miles. This means I’ve got a lot more exploring to do. The north side is even more scenic than the south [...]

I’ve only been down one leg of the San Pasqual Hiking Trails. There are many more. It could take a month to fully explore. [...]

Time Killer of the Year Award

It seems each year I find something to fill the time between working and sleeping. Only after enough time is invested in that activity can I assess if it was a time killer or if it actually benefited me.
The winner for 2005 is the Stock Market. This year I spent countless hours reading [...]

Firing Active Host

Yesterday I went into detail about rogue SPAM blacklists in my J’accuse! post. What brought this on was one of web hosts actually sited that they used the rogue BlarsBL to filter email directed to me. This outraged me enough to fire Active Host after a multi-year relationship.
Active Host is my hosting company [...]

J’accuse!

In an effort to thwart SPAM, many DNS Blacklists have surfaced. They supposedly track which servers are sending SPAM. Email programs or mail servers then check these lists before delivering email to the user. When their right, they are great. When then wrong, it sucks.
After an email address is wrongly accused [...]
