DeepFitness 2007 Released
For the last two months I’ve been coding the new version of my fitness site DeepFitness. For the user it looks very similar. However, the entire site was rewritten. Every page, the entire middle-tier and every database object was recoded. Over the next few months another 1000 articles will be released and tags will be added to all articles.

DeepFitness 2007 Highlights:
1- All Content Pages run off a single page that uses an HTTP Handler. The previous version published hundreds of directories and files.
2- Site is now written in ASP.NET 2.0. Previous versions used Classic ASP.
3- Replaced messy directories with Tags for easier navigation.
4- Now XHTML compliant. I wrote some code to fix the bad HTML of over 1000 articles. There are still a few rogue articles, but they will handled in due time.
5- AdSense optimized. I received a lot of help from my pal that runs Rate Exchange and Home Accents.
6- Site makes heavy use of memory caching for fast page draws.
The new DeepFitness isn’t pretty. It isn’t supposed to be. This is my one commercial site and as such the ads are the focus of each page. Making money on DeepFitness will give me the resources I need for my next trip, which means more stories and photos here on CriticalMAS!
