Wikipedia Entries For People I Delivered Pizza To
In an earlier post I mentioned my career of the early 1990s. I delivered for Pizza Hut. It was the best job I ever had that didn’t require a resume. And better than most of the jobs I’ve had since that did require one.
My first tour of duty was delivering pizzas in Columbus. My delivery area consisted of Upper Arlington, Grandview Heights, Victorian Village, South Ohio State and part of the North 4th ghetto.
During that tour I delivered a pizza to the former President of the Ohio State University: Ed Jennings. Good tipper.
My second tour of duty was after I moved to Florida. My delivery area was in South St. Petersburg. With the exception of some nice homes in The Pink Streets, it was a low income area with poor tippers.
Fortunately for me baseball great Dwight Gooden lived in The Pink Streets. Although he didn’t come to the door to pay me the two times I delivered to his home, I did get an outstanding tip each time.
I am honored to have delivered a pizza to Ed Jennings, the greatest President in the history of the Ohio State University and Dwight Gooden, the greatest baseball player of all-time. Yeah, I can be bought.
Below is scan of my August 1994 delivery ticket to Dwight Gooden. I didn’t save the Jennings ticket.

LOL. What’s sad is that I still remember how to read that ticket.

Dude I didn’t know you worked for Pizza Hut. I always knew I liked for a reason.

I worked for Domino’s Pizza when they first opened in my home town. You were supposed to be 18 to be a driver so I lied about my age (17). Great job for sure…made more money on that job than any other that I’ve ever had prior to college graduation. No famous-people deliveries but I did deliver to a topless strip club which was quite the thrill at 17…

My Columbus branch had the coveted CLUB SECRET run. Great tippers, short drive and nice scenery.
